Aquatic Sport Clubs
Note: The Aquatic Sport Clubs listed below are operated by independent organizations or private businesses. These programs are not run or managed by The Works.
The Sea Stars consist of synchronized swimmers of all ages who swim for fun, exercise and competition. We have recreational, pre-competitive, and tier 1-7 teams. Teams of 4 to 12 swimmers train 1-4 hours per week, competing at meets and participating in water shows in the province. Older teams swim 6 to 14 hours per week and can compete at the provincial level, at invitational meets in eastern Canada and at the National level. There is no age limit but swimmers must be comfortable swimming in deep water. A bathing suit and nose clips are necessary and goggles and a bathing cap are usually worn as well. The Edge Diving Club was founded in 2007 to represent the sport of diving in the St. John's metro region, a sport that has been very successful and has produced many nationally and internationally competitive athletes since the Canada Games were held in the province in 1977. Learn to Dive is our recreational diving program designed to introduce children of all ages to the sport of diving in a safe environment under the watchful eye of our nationally certified coaches. Our Pre-Competitive program is geared towards introducing children with the interest and the potential to learn the dives required to compete in competitions. The Elite Competitive group, the third tier in our program, focuses on athletes with the goal and ability to compete nationally and internationally.

The St John's Legends Swim Club is a performance based competitive swim club that trains out of the Aquarena and MUN Pool. The Legends offer programs for a variety of ages and skill levels, from our pre-competitive ‘Little Legends' squads to our National Squad composed of swimmers competing at a Senior National Level. Competitive swimmers are given the opportunity to compete locally and provincially with more experienced swimmers competing across Canada . We have a large certified coaching staff working with the swimmers as they progress through the club.
Swimmers interested in joining the Legends should swim at an Aquarena Bronze or Aqua Quest 10 level or higher. For tryouts and more information please contact our office at firstname.lastname@example.org or (709) 864-3802. We can be found on the web at http://www.legendswimming.com.
