Field House Hours of Operation:

Monday-Friday 7am-7pm
Saturday & Sunday 10am-6pm

Group Fitness Classes Resuming Wednesday July 8! View Schedule


Programs and services are resuming in a phased in approach to ensure we can meet restrictions and recommendations from the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. Your workout and fitness experience will look a bit different as we have made some changes to our amenities and fitness spaces. The Field House will be our main Fitness Area, open to all members. The Aquarena Upper Level Fitness area will open on Monday July 20, 2020, access will be through the Field House. The Aquarena Pool remains closed for maintenance. Please continue to check our website for updates on program startups.

 Currently, the Field House is open for all members of The Works, including Aquarena Fitness Centre members. Services include cardio, strength & free weight equipment. Booking an appointment or a time slot for a workout is not required. The Aquarena Pool is currently closed for annual maintenance.

What about Student Members?
The Student Recreation Fee was not included in tution  this term. If you wish to use the facility you must purchase a Student Membership for $35 + hst. This would be valid until August 31 and provide the same access as a regular student membership. You can purchase this at the Field House main desk.

Guidance for Indoor Sports:

• Users playing recreational sports are responsible for doing so as safely as possible and at their own risk, as per The Works Risk Statement.

• Sport guidance allows for occasional contact and recognizes that physical distancing will not always be maintained during game play.

• Please continue to maintain physical distancing from those not included in your game play.

What about Camp Whatchamacallit Summer Day Camp in Alert Level 2?

What about the Aquarena Pool and Swimming Lessons in Alert Level 2?
The Works has taken the opportunity to complete our annual pool maintenance during this time, we started the process a few weeks ago. Based on our maintenance schedule, the earliest Aquatic programs could take place at the Aquarena will be in August. The actual start time will depend heavily on Government of Newfoundland and Labrador guidelines and restrictions.


Swimming Lesson Customers:

Credits have been automatically placed on household accounts for any lessons that were scheduled to take place after March 13th, 2020. You do not need to do anything to request a credit to use for future classes. All previous registration has been cancelled, time slots will not resume when we reopen, all customers will have to re-register for new classes. 

If you wish to receive a refund for the fees you had paid, please complete the following form.We are unable to provide a timeline for processing these requests as resources are limited.

At this time, we are unable to provide a date when classes will resume. Previous participants will be contacted via to let them know when registration will begin when lessons resume. 

The Works will not be charging any administration or processing fees for requests due to the COVID-19 closure.
