Arthritis exercise Program
Developed in conjunction and endorsed by the Newfoundland and Labrador Division of the Arthritis Society. The Works Arthritis Exercise program tailored to the needs of individuals with rheumatiod arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and/or osteoarthritis. Participants enjoy exercise, socialization, support and fun.

The program should assist individuals in maintaining a good range of motion and improve strength and stamina to complete day to day activities with more ease. To enroll in this program you must be referred by your physician or rheumatologist.

 

About the Exercises
Exercise classes occur twice a week, each being a one-hour session. During each class you will be exercising in the main pool shallow end and in the hot pool. Under the guidance of a trained exercise leader, you will be doing different types of activities in each area.

How You Can Join?

Osteoarthritis

  • Must fulfill the program admission requirements
  • Must have a referral form completed by your physician. Forms are available at the Aquarena

Rheumatoid Arthritis/Ankylosing Spondylitis

  • Must be referred by your rheumatologist (arthritis specialist)
  • Must fulfill the program admission requirements
  • Must have a medical eligibility form completed by your rheumatologist.
